How we increased attendance year-over-year by finding new audience base for regional gaming tournament.

THE PROJECT

Find & Attract A New Customer Base

St. Louis hosted Gateway Legends™️ (a national video game tournament) for the third year running. The competition attracts enthusiastic youth and tech fans from the Midwest region. GL was looking to expand its reach for the 2023 competition, welcoming middle school and high school gamers alongside pros and esports enthusiasts. The three-day tournament brought together over 1000 gaming athletes, fans, and spectators at Ballpark Village in Downtown St. Louis over Memorial Day Weekend.


OUR ROLE

Strategic Digital Marketing Initiatives

Socially Inspired led Gateway Legends digital marketing efforts, covering social media, influencer collaborations, PR, and digital advertising. We provided support in coordinating with sponsors, vendors, and the leadership team. As the on-site point of contact, we managed live social media coverage and facilitated effective media communication. Our comprehensive approach amplified the event's reach and success.


THE RESULTS

Another Successful Tournament In The Books

From April to May 2023, our social media content garnered a combined total of 831,971 impressions across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Additionally, our strategic media placements proved successful, achieving an impressive 9,530,887 total traditional media impressions, resulting in a positive impact. Moreover, we received around 40,000 engagements during this period.
